Why I Am Here
- To listen, because sometimes art alone talks back.
- To finally get all this stuff out there for critique.
- To friend and befriend [if there's a difference].
I don't care about pageviews!

This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
But, how?
By moving, adding and personalizing widgets.
You can drag and drop to rearrange.
You can edit widgets to customize them.
The left side has widgets you can add!
Some widgets you can only access when you get a premium membership.
Some widgets have options that are only available when you get a premium membership.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!
Let me be clear about this: I don't really want to reply to fifty billion thank you's every time I fave a piece. I really appreciate you, and I appreciate your work, I really do: but the automated thank you knee jerk response has really begun to bug me. You are not obligated to thank me - you got what you deserved. If I fave-d your work it's because you deserved it; I'm not about to go running around fave-ing every new deviation for page views - I'm fave-ing because you deserve it. I could care less if I had ten pageviews.
Now this is not to slap you across the wrist and say "no, bad artist" but rather invite you to try and be social: act more human than robotic. If you really appreciate a fave or a comment or watch enough to elicit a response, maybe you should try saying something meaningful past a thank you: perhaps you could say, "I really like your photo _______" or "how is the weather up there?" or something that humans might do instead of automated dA drones.
If you are just going to copy and paste an automatic 'You're welcome' to every comment on your profile, or the very same 'thanks for the fave' then why bother at all? Why not just leave it where it is. I personally prefer to reply to each comment uniquely - mention something about that deviant so they know I'm no robot and that I'm a person who cares and does mean it when I say thanks. If you can't say something with meaning or sincerity or take the time to truly thank them, why do it at all?
Thank you sincerely for reading this: let's try starting a trend here, where people might actually show appreciation appreciatively instead of instinctively or automatically.
